VASP and DACAPO are DFT-plane wave simulation software, designed for atomic structures studies and are not specific to STM simulations, even though they may generate STM images within the Tersoff-Hamman approximation (i.e. without taking the tip into account).

They use accurate formalisms but cannot deal with complex systems such as a realistic STM interface (sample+tip).
